Problems of the gum and bone supporting the teeth. Sometimes called Pyorrhea, this can cause loosening of the teeth, gum recession, or bleeding gums. Frequently there are no symptoms, and only a thorough periodontal examination can detect it. The formation of pockets between the gum and the tooth is often the tip-off to dentists and hygienists that a problem is starting.

Frequently causing pain and headaches around the face, jaw and head. Often recognized as pain when chewing. Sufferers experience stiff facial muscles, headaches, or pain in the jaw joint and ear. Clicking of the jaw joint is also common.

Missing Teeth can now be replaced with implants, which take the place of the missing root of the tooth. Dr. Dean will place the implant in the jawbone. After a period of three to six months, your family dentist, working together with Dr. Dean will be able to use the implants to provide you with new crowns and bridges for your missing teeth.

Sometimes when your teeth are too short or a cavity occurs under the gum your dentist may ask for this procedure before he makes a new crown for your tooth.

Dr. Dean strives to make your visits with him as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. Dr. Dean strongly believes that his patients' comfort is an important part of quality dental care.

Dr. Dean believes that the patient's right to choose a dentist is an important freedom. Dr. Dean works closely as a team with your referring dentist, but a referral by a dentist is not required for a visit to his office. He welcomes referrals from patients and friends of the practice. Take Route 184 exit off of I-95, at second light (approximately one mile) turn right onto Antonio Road. The next left takes you to Building 489. We are located on the second floor, Suite 201.
